Novels

Students are nearing the end of their novel studies in Ms. Vanni's classes. "Esperanza Rising" and "Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry" have been such a large part of their work during Hexters 1 & 2. Ask the students if they can tell you the elements of the story including climax, rising action, falling action, and resolution.

Eureka!

Wow, what a great day at school! Today, Eureka came to SR and told us an imaginative story about a teenage girl having troubles understanding with her math homework. While attempting to study in her bedroom, she was visited by several charismatic mathematicians of the past! Following the play students had an opportunity for a question and answer session with the actors and actresses. Students, have you had an "Eureka" moment this year in math?! Parents, be sure to ask the kids what this means!
